The Kestner Team

Nashville isn't just known for country music, but for its brains, too.

Forbes.com ranked Nashville fourth in its "America's Brainiest Cities" survey.

The website looked at 52 metropolitan areas that had more 1,000,000 people living there. It ranked cities by comparing the number of people over the age of 25 who received college degrees between 2007 and 2009.

Forbes.com found that more college graduates are heading to smaller cities instead of big ones such as New York and Los Angeles. The survey cites Nashville's vibrant, cultural and music scene, diverse population, low housing cost and growing health care industry.
